Presentation

This Master's programme offers high-level training in mathematical engineering, focusing on statistical modelling and optimisation methods. Thanks to a rigorous theoretical foundation, students acquire cross-disciplinary skills enabling them to solve complex decision-making problems in all industrial and service sectors (data science, logistics, finance, R&D).

The strength of this course lies in its ability to apply these universal tools to major contemporary challenges, particularly those of the energy transition and resource management. By working with leading players in the fields of energy, agricultural resources and mobility, students learn to model complex systems such as water management, climate change and industrial risk prevention.

This approach, which is resolutely focused on practical applications, prepares students for both direct entry into the world of work and research. The Master's programme is open to both initial and sandwich training.

Domain: Agrosciences, Environment and Health

Teaching and laboratory team

The teaching is provided by a multidisciplinary team that guarantees a balance between scientific rigour and operational expertise:

Academic excellence: A majority of our teaching staff are researchers from the Avignon Mathematics Laboratory (LMA), specialists in optimisation, probability and statistics. They pass on the latest modelling methods from fundamental research.

Professional expertise: lecturers from the private sector and major organisations (notably EDF and the CEA) provide a concrete vision of industrial issues. They train students in the tools and requirements of the business world.

Open partnerships: The programme benefits from close links with applied research institutes such as INRAE and experts in the geography of mobility, offering a variety of study areas and opportunities for work placements or work-study placements in high-impact areas.
