Main objective:

Acquire the skills needed to set up a processing chain in R in order to
analyse local property price levels, how they are structured spatially and how they evolve over time.

The launch of the "Spatial analysis of property markets with R" course is a response to several factors
socio-economic issues :
? Urbanisation and territorial dynamics: metropolisation, territorial fractures, regulation
of the market.
? Property pressure: rent controls, investment strategies, social housing.
? Explosion of geographical data: Open Data, GIS, spatial modelling with R.
? Evolving professions: expertise in spatial analysis required by local authorities and developers,
town planners.
? Spatial planning and foresight: impact of teleworking, ecological transition,
urban resilience.

Target audience:

This course is aimed at study managers, professionals or researchers dealing with
real estate issues or who want to learn about spatial analysis with R.

COURSE DESCRIPTION :

Educational programme :
Day 1 :
? Best practice when carrying out a development project in R
? Handling and cleaning DVF data
? Descriptive statistics
Day 2 :
? Simple price indices and trend calculations
? Visualisation with ggplot2
Day 3 :
? Mapping with R
? Global and local measurement of spatial autocorrelation
Day 4 :
? Advanced pricing models: local regressions, GAM

Organisation of training :

The course is organised over 4 days starting in January.

Target skills :

-Understanding the advantages and limitations of open data on property transactions
-Enrich this data for analysis
-Visualise spatial structures and dynamics and objectify their structuring
-Produce robust statistics on local market prices (in particular by monitoring
structural effects)

Assessment procedures :

Practical exercise due 15 days after the course
