Presentation

The Literature, Medicine and Care DU is an interdisciplinary degree course designed to give students the literary skills, historical knowledge and cultural background they need to enhance their relationship with healthcare professionals.

Public concerned:
This course is aimed at all healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths, psychologists, psychotherapists, nursing auxiliaries, medical secretaries, etc.), whether in training, working or retired.

Target skills :
- Knowing the principles and methods of literary analysis and adapting them to listening to and understanding patients.
- Master precise, nuanced and expressive vocabulary to improve communication skills.
- Acquire a variety of writing skills (narrative, poetic and dramatic) to accompany and support your personal involvement as a carer.
- Enhance your literary and historical knowledge to put your experience of care into perspective and make the most of it.
- Use your sensitivity to develop individualised care protocols.

Educational organisation :
- 78 hours,
- 100% face-to-face,
- 2 introductory days of theoretical and methodological presentations (end of January)
- ½ day per week over 12 weeks of classes and practical workshops (February to May)
- 2 concluding days of stocktaking and putting things into perspective (June)
