The Diplôme d'Accès aux Études Universitaires (DAEU) is a national diploma equivalent to the Baccalauréat. The DAEU is a national diploma equivalent to the Baccalauréat. It enables students to develop and secure a career path, resume higher education (particularly at university), acquire a diploma enabling them to sit administrative examinations requiring the Baccalauréat or obtain a diploma attesting to their level of general knowledge.

The DAEU is a level 4 national diploma that confers the same rights as the baccalauréat.

Special features

The D.A.E.U. is designed for people who have interrupted their studies without having the baccalauréat.
This diploma gives people from a wide range of backgrounds the opportunity to obtain a qualification equivalent to the baccalaureate, thereby giving them the prospect of acquiring a higher education diploma and/or a career move.
The DAEU Littéraire (DAEU A) offers mainly literary courses. It is recommended for further study in the fields of art, literature, languages or law.

DAEU Littéraire (DAEU A) face-to-face - 288 hours between September and May

Classes are only on Tuesdays from 8am to 12.15pm and from 1.15pm to 7.45pm (depending on the subjects chosen).


Compulsory subjects :

French: 60 hours
English: 60 hours

You must choose 2 options from these subjects:

History: 60 hours
Geography: 60 hours
Mathematics: 60 hours

Teaching is always organised as follows, although there may be changes:

8.00am - 10.00am: History
10.15am - 12.15pm: French
1.00 pm - 3.00 pm: English
3.15pm - 5.15pm: Geography
5.30 pm - 7.30 pm: Mathematics

Teaching support for core subjects is organised over 12 Saturday mornings, with 24 hours for French and 24 hours for English:

- 4 to 6 Saturday mornings between October and December from 8am to 12pm,
- 4 to 6 Saturday matinees between March and May from 8am to 12pm.

Assessment procedures

Continuous assessment and final examination :

- Continuous assessment is organised in each subject,
- A final exam is held over 3 days (2 to 4 hours per subject) in June.

The rating system :

- The final examination mark is the 1st mark taken into consideration for each subject.

- If the mark obtained in the final examination (E.T.) for a subject is less than 10/20, the average mark for the continuous assessment (C.A.) is taken into account. The average is calculated between the final exam mark and the continuous assessment mark with the same coefficient.

- The DAEU is awarded if the average of the marks for the 4 subjects with the same coefficient is greater than or equal to 10/20.

The jury meets at the beginning of July before Parcoursup closes.
The jury is made up of :

- The DAEU course leader,
- Teachers of every subject,
In the presence of the training manager

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

You must complete the online application form.
Print out your application form and send it to the address indicated on the website, together with all the documents requested. Incomplete applications will not be validated.

Registration

Final enrolment will only be effective once you have signed your training contract and paid the course fees.

You must pre-register using the link provided in the letter you will receive from the DAEU course manager.

You will be required to pay a national registration fee of 175 euros to Avignon Université, in addition to the cost of the S.F.T.L.V. course, in order to sit the final exam.
