Main objective:
Understand and analyse networks in their various forms (road, transport, urban),
using graph theory to assess their impact on the environment.
territorial dynamics and the interactions between people and places, from the perspective of
planning and management of contemporary territories...
This course meets the needs of the job market by specialising students in planning, mobility management, territorial Big Data and public policy.
Target audience:
This course is aimed at study managers, professionals or researchers dealing with
real estate issues or who want to learn about spatial analysis with R.
COURSE DESCRIPTION :
Educational programme :
Day 1 :
- the territorial and strategic dimension of networks
- modelling networks using graph theory and an introduction to measuring their properties
topological: connectivity, nodality, intermediality, etc.
Day 2 :
-practical measurement of the properties of graphs and nodes and identification of node communities
(clustering) with R software
Day 3 :
- the notion of accessibility (to places or localised resources)
- optimise the location of a resource according to demand
Practical application with the ARCGIS Network Analyst module
Day 4 :
- carrying out a tutored project in groups of 3
Organisation of training :
The course takes place over 3 days, starting in October.
Target skills :
- model a network in the form of a graph and calculate indices describing the quality of the connections.
relationship and the more or less strategic relative position of each node
- identify communities of nodes within a network
- calculate the shortest routes (in kilometres, time and cost) and origin-origin matrices
destinations between network nodes
- produce isochronous isolines (area accessible from a point using a particular mode of transport),
a given distance and time)
- optimise the location of a resource according to a localised demand (rental-rental methods)
allowance)
Assessment procedures :
Practical exercise due 15 days after the course
Oral assessment of the tutored project (not compulsory)
